Summer is here! :D

The long awaited season of the year is finally here! Time to get that summer dresses and bikinis you've been longing to wear, put on a pair of sexy shades and hit the beaches! wooot woooot :D
..and obviously, wherever you are this summer, the one thing you have to consider most is, no i'm not talking about your tanning lotion and SPF sunscreens, but what swimsuit will make heads turn while your sipping your martinis by the beach ;)

This season, bikinis and swim-wear have taken a different edgy-ness, so while choosing the perfect swim-wear, these are some of the styles you need to be looking out for

♥ Vintage-style swim-wear ( yesyes, vintage has become one of the major trendsetter this season, may it be dresses or swimsuits, i guess the quote "old is gold" is true indeed ;) )
For a classy vintage look, look out for one pieces with clinched in waists, fuller prints, and high waisted bottoms.

High waisted bottoms, very classic  with a very vintage feel

A nautical high waited halter top swimsuit! very retro aint it ?

♥ Ruffles
The pretty feminine ruffles are now the on-trend style for swimsuits. When looking out for ruffled-swimwear, make sure you keep it simple, ruffles have a way of being complex in their own way, so make sure you find the right piece and keep it minimal.

Ruffles for a very feminine look :)

♥ Crochet Swim-wear
With a major influence of the 70's fashion and crochet clothing, it is a must-have swim-suit for this season. The crochet, similar to lace has a very sexy effect, its come across as sexy without showing too much skin.

One shoulder swim-wear

Once again, the trend from dresses has come down to swimwear. This asymmetric style of swim wear gives a very trendy and unique effect. It may not be the most comfortable swimsuit to swim in but hey! fashion isn't always comfortable now is it? ;)

You can always add some fun accessories along with your swimwear when your heading to the beach, never be afraid to make a bold statement when it comes to swimwear just make sure you choose the swimsuit according to your figure/body-type. :)

Happy Beach-ing! :D

The "oh-so-popular" LBD

The Little black dress (referred as "LBD") has been a must have item ever since the twenties. ( yes, been THATT long! ) Coco Chanel was the first to come up with the idea of a black dress, simple yet very elegant and chic.

The LBD in the early 1900's

It is the default ensemble when its one of those " i have nothing to wear" days. The LBD transecends time and trends as the essential item in every woman's wardrobe "it can always be thrown on and feel best dressed" said Scarlett Johansson.
The all time classic way to wear a little black dress is to channel the Audrey Hepburn "Breakfast at Tifanny's
look - a perfect simple sleeveles LBD, pearls and the classic headband! ( thats totally how one would describe Eleganance )

Audrey Hepburn

The LBD is always ones safest bet to wear! And the best part is there are soo many ways to spice it up that it'll never get boring! You can always wear it with a well fitted blazer for a classier effect, or wear it with bright colour pumps to stand out, any way, a black dress always writes off class all over it.

So yes, to all the girls out there who do not own an LBD, time to hit the stores and get that perfect little black dress (:

Spring 2011 clothing trends

 LACE

Yes, we know, Lace might not be the 'new' item in the market, but lace is a classic. Its gorgeous and looks exceptionally combined with other fabrics or just on its own. But beware of too much of it, because it will look unflattering. Try various lace to find the one that is best for you. You can go for vintage lace with large prints and look classy or you can even opt for tiny patterns for a more sensual look ;)

But who said lace were just for clothes, lace is the one thing that can enhance any clothing item as well as accessories, from head bands to the  high heels. Top designers such as Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld and Oscar de la Renta have all made lace a must have item in their spring collection of 2011.
